Continuous-wave (cw) difference-frequency generation (DFG) in the infrared (5-11 /spl mu/m) using LiInS/sub 2/ and LiInSe/sub 2/ crystals is reported: Type II (eoe) critically phase-matched DFG processes have been experimentally investigated. Spectral and angular tuning and conversion efficiencies are discussed.
