En-route hazardous weather or traffic congestion can cause to civil aviation problems in terms of delays caused by necessary digressions, compelling to change the standard reference trajectories and generating an increase in fuel consumption. The effect is a consequent increase in pollution, due to larger emission of CO2, NOx and water vapor and the noise in proximity of the airports. In this paper a mitigation to this problem is proposed based on multi-object trajectory optimization by using graphs of feasible aircraft trajectories to which are applied genetic and pareto front algorithms to select the best one in terms of different parameters optimization (i.e. delays, fuel consumption, emissions, noise). The proposed method can be integrated both on-ground in a global mission system and on-board the aircraft, since it can run in real time. An application of the method has been proposed and implemented in Clean Sky European Project for generating trajectories optimized for weather avoidance and emission reduction, while saving aircraft safety margins, and then customized for automatic graph of trajectory generation. Quantitative results in terms of fuel consumption reduction and pollution decrease are provided, compared to the standard non-optimized trajectories, and a suitable implementation on an electronic flight bag tested on different flight simulators is shown.
