The paper attempts to point out the difficulties with “see and avoid” principle’s adaptability in terms of drone aviation. Visual detectability of drones is hindered by the design (size, shape, colour) of the UAV itself. Flight safety concerns extend to two basic scenarios as crash to the ground and collision to a piloted aircraft. Probability and severity ranges of such harmful events seem to be significant. The author suggests, that risk arising while drones sharing the airspace with conventional aircraft can be mitigated by increased sensibility.
