With the acceleration of urbanization and the need for sustainable transportation, urban rail transit (subway and light rail systems), especially subways, play an important role in modern transportation infrastructure, providing convenient and efficient transportation for millions of people in cities around the world. Therefore, the resilience assessment of subway networks has become a focus of attention. This paper analyzes the subway network by using the Monte Carlo simulation method to randomly simulate passenger travel journeys; evaluates the resilience of the subway network from the aspects of average travel time, average transfer times, average node degree, average node betweenness, etc.; calculates the changes in indicators by successively destroying all nodes in the network; determines the indicator weights through methods such as K-means clustering, silhouette coefficient, calculation of the impact of degree and betweenness on the overall network efficiency; calculates the Class I resilience index and Class II resilience index of the network through the weights and indicator change values, and determines the resilience of the subway network. The method proposed in this paper is applied to the Xi’an subway as an example and relevant analysis is conducted. The method proposed in this paper can not only provide a scientific and effective resilience assessment method for subway operation management but also provide an important reference for subway route planning.
