The method for estimating a collision risk according to a road environment may include estimating a road surface friction coefficient distribution using at least one sensor, calculating an expected deceleration amount distribution of an own vehicle according to the road environment using the estimated road surface friction coefficient distribution and an expected deceleration amount of the own vehicle, calculating a forward safety distance distribution between the own vehicle and a forward vehicle using the calculated expected deceleration amount distribution of the own vehicle, and calculating a forward collision risk according to a current distance between the own vehicle and the forward vehicle based on the calculated forward safety distance distribution.
