A device and a method that allow selection of an optimal travel route by creating a route considering a real-time driving environment in an autonomous driving vehicle are disclosed. The method includes receiving at least one of surrounding situation information or road situation information from a cloud; calculating a score about each of a plurality of lanes of a road based on the at least one of the surrounding situation information or the road situation information; and configuring a travel route based on the calculated scores. The device and method may be associated with an AI (artificial intelligence) device, a drone, an UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle), a robot, an AR (augmented reality) device, a VR (virtual reality) device, and a 5G service.
