An aircraft position communication system comprising a wireless communication device and a central server, the wireless communication device is operable to receive aircraft position data associated with a first aircraft from a global positioning system and transmit the aircraft position data to the central server via a mobile phone cell tower, and the central server is operable to store and process the aircraft position data transmitted from the wireless communication device and aircraft position data associated with a second aircraft, in which the central server is further operable to selectively transmit the aircraft position data associated with the second aircraft to the wireless communication device via a mobile cell tower, and alert the first aircraft to the position of the second aircraft if the second aircraft position is within a pre-determined range of the first aircraft position.
