Disclosed embodiments relate to apparatuses and methods for controlling charging/discharging of a battery. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes an electric motor, a battery, an electric vehicle inlet, an integrated power converter including a relay and including a first power converter to convert DC power, emitted from the battery, into AC power, and a second power converter to convert AC power, transferred from the electric vehicle inlet or the electric motor, into DC power, and a controller to determine a state of the electric vehicle so as to control the integrated power converter according to the determined result.
