Provided is a position estimation method of an autonomous driving vehicle, which accurately estimates a position of a vehicle in a driving environment where a vehicle position by a GPS signal cannot be recognized like a tunnel to control autonomous driving. The position estimation method determines tunnel entry of the autonomous driving vehicle according to a set driving route, thereby estimating the position of the vehicle based on a capturing image and sensing data in the tunnel to control the autonomous driving of the vehicle in the tunnel.

    터널 등과 같이 GPS신호로 차량 위치를 인식할 수 없는 주행환경에서 차량의 위치를 정확하게 추정하여 자율주행을 제어할 수 있는 자율주행차량의 위치추정방법이 제공된다. 위치추정방법은 설정된 주행경로를 따라 자율주행하는 차량의 터널진입을 판단하고, 이에 따른 터널 내 촬영영상 및 센싱데이터에 기초하여 차량의 위치를 추정하여 이에 따라 터널 내에서 차량의 자율주행을 제어한다.
