Disclosed are an electric vehicle drift control system and a method thereof. By an embodiment of the present invention, the electric vehicle drift control system includes: a driving information detector detecting driving information necessary for drift control during the driving of a four-wheel drive electric vehicle; a drift mode switch inputting a drift mode signal according to an operation by a driver; a front-wheel motor and a rear-wheel motor independently transmitting a driving force to the front and rear wheels of the electric vehicle; and a controller, when the drift mode signal is inputted during driving in the general mode, entering the drift mode, and, when a turning index calculated based on the driving information exceeds a set first threshold value, determining the situation as a turning situation to initiate drift driving control while performing a control operation to distribute the driving force only to the rear wheels by using the rear-wheel motor. Therefore, the present invention can improve drivability with consistent vehicle behavior.

    전기차 드리프트 제어 시스템 및 그 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른, 전기차 드리프트 제어 시스템은, 사륜구동 전기차의 주행 중 드리프트 제어에 필요한 운전정보를 검출하는 운전정보 검출기; 운전자의 조작에 따라 드리프트 모드 신호를 입력하는 드리프트 모드 스위치; 상기 전기차의 전륜과 후륜을 각각 독립적으로 구동력을 전달하는 전륜 모터와 후륜 모터; 및 일반 모드로 주행 중 상기 드리프트 모드 신호가 입력되면 드리프트 모드로 진입하고, 상기 운전정보에 기초하여 연산된 선회지수가 설정된 제1 임계치를 초과하면 선회 상황으로 판단하여 드리프트 주행 제어를 개시하되 상기 후륜 모터를 이용하여 상기 후륜에만 구동력이 배분되도록 제어하는 제어기;를 포함한다.
