Disclosed is an electric brake. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the electric brake, which includes a piston configured to push a brake pad towards a wheel disc by the driving of a motor, comprises: a position detection unit detecting the position of the piston; a current detection unit detecting a current value flowing in the motor; a motor controller controlling the motor to move the piston towards the wheel disc during a preset time when the vehicle is stopped; and a contact point calculation unit calculating a contact point which is the position of the piston when the brake pad starts coming in contact with the wheel disc based on a first position, which is the position of the piston when a first current value is detected by using the current detection unit. Therefore, braking force can be more precisely calculated.

    전동식 브레이크를 개시한다. 본 개시의 일 실시예에 의하면, 모터의 구동에 의해 브레이크 패드를 휠디스크 측으로 밀도록 구성되는 피스톤을 포함하는 전동식 브레이크에 있어서, 피스톤의 위치를 검출하기 위한 위치검출부(position detection unit); 모터에 흐르는 전류값을 검출하기 위한 전류검출부(current detection unit); 차량이 정차되어 있을 때 기 설정된 시간 동안 피스톤을 휠디스크 측으로 이동시키도록 모터를 제어하는 모터제어기(motor controller); 및 전류검출부를 이용하여 제1 전류값이 검출될 때의 피스톤의 위치인 제1 위치를 기초로, 브레이크 패드가 휠디스크와 접촉하기 시작할 때의 피스톤의 위치인 접촉지점을 산출하는 접촉지점 산출부(contact point calculation unit)를 포함하는, 전동식 브레이크를 제공한다.
