The present invention provides a motor powered brake for a vehicle. The motor powered brake comprises: a caliper housing including an inner pad and an outer pad in opposite positions from each other; a brake body connected and coupled to the caliper housing that has one side where a head is included in such a manner that the head can slide forward and backward while being arranged on the rear side of the inner pad; a drive motor installed on the brake body to generate rotational force; a decelerating gear part connected to the drive motor while being installed on the brake body to decrease the rotation speed of the drive motor; a ball screw having one end engaged with the decelerating gear part while the ball screw is installed on the brake body; a screw nut coupled to the ball screw while the screw nut is installed on the brake body and performs linear movement in accordance with the rotation of the ball screw to push the head in the direction of the inner pad to move the inner pad in the direction of the outer pad; and a linear motor installed on the brake body to push the head in the direction of the inner pad simultaneously when the screw nut pushes the head in the direction of the inner pad. The motor powered brake for a vehicle moves the head to transfer the rotational movement of the drive motor to linear movement through the ball screw and the screw nut to allow the inner pad to be pressurized in the direction of the outer pad, thereby securing superior power transference efficiency. Furthermore, the driving force to move the head is additionally generated by the linear motor, thereby improving durability of the ball screw and the screw nut to maintain stable braking.
