The present invention relates to technology of detecting a blind spot of a vehicle. More specifically, a device for detecting a blind spot of a vehicle, which is realized to be attached to and detached from a sideview mirror of a vehicle to detect a blind spot of a front side of the vehicle, and an operation method thereof. The device for detecting a blind spot of a vehicle installed in the vehicle to detect the blind spot comprises: a power unit supplying driving power to the inside of the device for detecting a blind spot of the vehicle; a sensor unit outputting detection data by detecting a preset detection area; an analysis unit outputting a warning generation signal when determining that a dangerous situation occurs by analyzing the detection data; and a warning unit generating a warning by responding to the warning generation signal.
