The present invention relates to a system for cooling a liquefied gas storage tank of a vessel and a method thereof, which can cool a liquefied gas storage tank to condense evaporation gas while simultaneously suppressing generation of evaporation gas. To this end, the system for cooling a liquefied gas storage tank of a vessel according to the present invention comprises: a liquefied gas storage tank which stores liquefied gas; a fuel cell which uses a hydrogen gas as a reactant to produce electricity by means of an electrochemical reaction; a liquefied hydrogen storage tank which stores hydrogen to be used as fuel of a fuel cell in a liquid phase; and a supercooling machine which performs supercooling with respect to the liquefied gas by allowing liquefied hydrogen which is to be supplied from the liquefied hydrogen storage tank to the fuel cell and the liquefied gas which is to be cooled and has been discharged from the liquefied gas storage tank to exchange heat with each other. The liquefied gas which has been supercooled and has been discharged from the supercooling machine may be collected to the liquefied gas storage tank. Therefore, the liquefaction performance of evaporation gas may be improved.

    본 발명은 액화가스 저장탱크를 냉각시켜 증발가스를 응축시키는 것과 동시에 증발가스의 생성을 억제할 수 있는 선박의 액화가스 저장탱크 냉각 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 선박의 액화가스 저장탱크 냉각 시스템은, 액화가스를 저장하는 액화가스 저장탱크; 수소 기체를 반응물로 사용하며 전기화학적 반응에 의해 전력을 생산하는 연료전지; 상기 연료전지의 연료로 사용할 수소를 액상으로 저장하는 액화수소 저장탱크; 및 상기 액화수소 저장탱크로부터 연료전지로 공급할 액화수소와, 상기 액화가스 저장탱크로부터 배출된 냉각시킬 액화가스를 열교환시켜, 상기 액화가스를 과냉각시키는 과냉각기;를 포함하며, 상기 과냉각기로부터 배출된 과냉각 액화가스는 상기 액화가스 저장탱크로 회수될 수 있다.
