The present invention relates to an audio-based technique to sense and detect a road condition for autonomous driving vehicles. Sound signals are received by one or more microphones disposed at an ADV. The sound signals are analyzed to extract a feature of a road on which the ADV is driving. The road condition of the road is determined based on the extracted feature. A path planning and speed planning is performed to generate a trajectory based on the road condition. The ADV is controlled to drive autonomously according to the generated trajectory.
ADV에 배치된 하나 이상의 마이크로폰들에 의해 사운드 신호들이 수신된다. 사운드 신호들은 ADV가 주행하고 있는 도로의 특징부를 추출하기 위해 분석된다. 추출된 특징부에 기초하여 도로의 도로 상황이 결정된다. 도로 상황에 기초하여 궤적을 생성하기 위해 경로 계획 및 속력 계획이 수행된다. ADV는 생성된 궤적에 따라 자율적으로 주행하도록 제어된다.
