A vehicle rear warning system according to the present invention comprises: a detection unit which detects location of an external vehicle; an estimation unit which estimates progress direction of the external vehicle based on the location of the external vehicle detected by the detection unit; and a setting unit which sets a collision warning range based on a host vehicle and changes the collision warning range based on the progress direction of the external vehicle estimated by the estimation unit. The present invention reduces error of collision warning by reducing the collision warning range when the external vehicle gets out from the collision warning range in rear side.

    본 발명에 따른 차량의 후측방 경고 시스템은 외부 차량의 위치를 감지하는 감지부; 감지부에서 감지한 외부차량의 위치를 기반으로 외부차량의 진행 방향을 추정하는 추정부; 및 자차를 기준으로 충돌 경고 범위를 설정하며, 추정부에서 추정한 외부차량의 진행방향을 기반으로 충돌 경고 범위를 가변시키는 설정부;를 포함하는 차량의 후측방 경고 시스템이 소개된다.
