In various embodiments, a driver detecting subsystem calculates characteristics of a driver based on physiological properties of the driver, measured when the driver operates a vehicle. In succession, a driver estimation application uses a confidence level model to estimate a confidence level related to the driver based on the characteristics of the driver. Subsequently, the driver estimation application allows driver assistant applications to activate processes based on the confidence level and to change at least one function of the vehicle. Advantageously, the driver estimation application improves driving safety compared to the conventional method which realizes driver assistant applications ignoring the confidence level of the driver, by allowing the driver assistant applications to consider the confidence level of the driver.
