According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided are a trolley voltage control device and a method thereof. To control a trolley voltage V1 corresponding to an up line and a trolley voltage V2 corresponding to a down line, a power converting device in two railroad cars is utilized and only a bidirectional direct current (DC)/DC converter is separately installed outside the cars, thereby appropriately adjusting the size of the trolley voltage in accordance with a relationship in the size between the two trolley voltages and an operating environment.

    본 실시예는 상행선에 해당하는 가선전압 V1과 하행선에 해당하는 가선전압 V2를 제어하기 위해서 두 철도차량 내부의 전력변환 장치를 활용하고, 차량 외부에 양방향 DC/DC 컨버터만 따로 설치함으로써 두 가선 전압의 대소 관계, 운영 환경에 따라 적절하게 가선전압의 크기를 조절할 수 있도록 하는 가선전압 제어장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다.
