The present invention relates to a ship engine and a control method for a ship engine, wherein the ship engine includes: a cylinder for combusting fuel; a piston installed to be vertically movable in the cylinder; a gas fuel supply unit for supplying gas fuel to the cylinder; a liquid fuel supply unit for supplying liquid fuel to the cylinder; and a control unit controlling the gas fuel supply unit and the liquid fuel supply unit, wherein the control unit reduces the amount of the gas fuel supplied to the cylinder and increases the amount of the liquid fuel in a transient load reduction mode.

    본 발명은 연료를 연소시키기 위한 실린더, 상기 실린더에 상하방향으로 이동 가능하게 설치되는 피스톤, 상기 실린더에 가스연료를 공급하기 위한 가스연료공급유닛, 상기 실린더에 액체연료를 공급하기 위한 액체연료공급유닛, 상기 가스연료공급유닛 및 상기 액체연료공급유닛을 제어하는 제어부를 포함하고, 상기 제어부는 과도 부하 감소 모드 시 상기 실린더에 공급하는 가스연료량을 감소시키고 액체연료량을 증가시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 선박용 엔진 및 선박용 엔진 제어방법에 관한 것이다.
