Disclosed are an indirect tire monitoring apparatus and a method. According to an embodiment, the indirect tire monitoring apparatus comprises: a wheel speed sensor detecting wheel speed information of a vehicle; and an electronic control unit calculating an error of a sawtooth angle distorted by a disturbance effect from the wheel speed information detected through the wheel speed sensor, determining dismissal of the detected wheel speed information based on the calculated error of the sawtooth angle, and estimating tire resonant frequency by using the detected wheel speed information when the detected wheel speed information is not dismissed.

    간접식 타이어 압력 모니터링 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 일실시예에 따른 간접식 타이어 압력 모니터링 장치는 차량의 휠 속도정보를 검출하는 휠 속도 센서 및 휠 속도센서를 통해 검출된 휠 속도정보로부터 외란 영향으로 인해 왜곡된 톱니각도 오차를 산출하고, 산출된 톱니각도 오차를 근거로 검출된 휠 속도정보의 기각을 판단하고, 검출된 휠 속도정보가 기각되지 않으면, 검출된 휠 속도정보를 이용하여 타이어 공진주파수를 추정하는 전자제어유닛을 포함한다.
