The present invention relates to a rail defect detector using ultrasonic wave and the like to detect defect inside a railway rail. According to the present invention, the rail defect detector comprises: a carrier to move along a rail of a train; a housing having a storage space formed therein and having an enclosure shape with an opened lower part to be coupled to the lower part of the carrier; the probe received in the housing and protruding from the housing to be spaced apart from the rail at a predetermined interval to detect defect inside the rail; a pair of elevation driving units coupled to both sides of the storage space of the housing to support the probe and elevating in accordance with an electric signal; a distance sensor installed on the front side in an advancing direction of the carrier to be spaced apart from a reference surface of the upper part of the rail at a predetermined distance and measuring a second distance from the upper surface of the rail; and a control unit controlling operation of the elevation driving unit to adjust the height of the probe by a difference between the first and second distance when the probe reaches the position of the distance sensor.

    본 발명은 초음파 등을 이용하여 철도 레일의 내부에 결함을 검출하는 레일탐상기에 관한 것으로서, 캐리어와, 하우징과, 탐촉자와, 승강구동부와, 제어부를 포함한다. 캐리어는 기차의 레일을 따라 이동한다. 하우징은 내부에 수용공간이 형성되고 하부가 개방된 함체 형상으로, 캐리어의 하부에 결합된다. 탐촉자는 레일 내부의 결함을 검출하기 위해 하우징의 내부에 수용되어 레일과 소정거리 이격되게 돌출배치된다. 한 쌍의 승강구동부는 하우징의 수용공간 양측에 각각 결합되어 탐촉자를 지지하고, 전기적 신호에 따라 탐촉자를 승강시킨다. 거리센서는 캐리어가 진행하는 전방에서 레일 상부의 기준면과 제1 거리만큼 이격되게 설치되고, 레일의 상부면까지의 제2 거리를 측정한다. 제어부는 탐촉자가 거리센서의 위치에 도달하는 시점에 제1 거리와 제2 거리의 차이만큼 탐촉자의 높이가 조절되도록 승강구동부의 구동을 제어한다.
