Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for train position detection. The apparatus for train position detection of the present invention comprises: a transmitter current detection part which detects a transmitter current passing through a transmitter of a second AF track circuit; a receiver current detection part which detects a receiver current passing through a receiver of a first AF track circuit; an AF track circuit current calculation part which calculates a track circuit current passing through the second AF track circuit by using the transmitter current and the receiver current; and a position detection part which detects the position of the train in the second track circuit according to the current of the track circuit.

    철도차량 위치 검출 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 철도차량 위치 검출 장치는 제2 AF궤도회로의 송신기를 통해 흐르는 송신기 전류를 측정하는 송신기 전류 측정부; 제1 AF궤도회로의 수신기를 통해 흐르는 수신기 전류를 측정하는 수신기 전류 측정부; 상기 송신기 전류와 상기 수신기 전류를 이용하여 제2 AF궤도회로에 흐르는 궤도회로 전류를 산출하는 AF궤도회로 전류 산출부; 및 상기 궤도회로 전류에 따라 제2 AF궤도회로 내 철도차량의 위치를 검출하는 위치 검출부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
