According to embodiments of the present invention, provided are a smart parking assist system and a control method thereof. The smart parking assist system detects an obstacle located on a route for a parking space for automatic parking and avoided from being detected by a vehicle sensor with a target speed, a movement speed, and driving torque of a vehicle, and completes the automatic parking by controlling the vehicle to enable the vehicle to pass through the obstacle in accordance with the position of the detected obstacle or changing an automatic parking completion condition of the vehicle. Accordingly, the automatic parking can be stably completed even when an obstacle which has not been detected by the sensor is present by detecting the obstacle while controlling the automatic parking.
본 실시예들은 스마트 주차 보조 시스템과 그 제어 방법에 관한 것으로서, 자동 주차를 위한 주차 공간으로의 경로 상에 위치하며 차량의 센서에 의해 감지되지 않는 장애물을 차량의 목표 속도, 이동 속도 및 구동 토크를 이용하여 감지하고, 감지된 장애물의 위치에 따라 차량이 장애물을 지나가도록 제어하거나 차량의 자동 주차 종료 조건을 변경하고 자동 주차를 완료하도록 함으로써, 자동 주차를 제어하는 과정에서 센서에 의해 감지되지 않은 장애물이 존재하는 경우에도 해당 장애물을 감지하고 자동 주차를 안정적으로 완료할 수 있도록 한다.
