Provided is an electric vehicle charger capable of grasping an accurate state of the charger through communication with an external device, and performing the communication between the charger and the external device only under a specific condition. The electric vehicle charger includes a first connector connected to an external power source, a second connector connected to a battery of an electric vehicle, a voltage determination unit for determining the magnitude of the external power source, and a control unit for controlling an operation of one of a relay and a communication unit according to the determination result of the voltage determination unit.
외부기기와의 통신을 통해 충전기의 정확한 상태를 파악하되, 특정 조건에서만 충전기와 외부기기 간의 통신이 수행되도록 할 수 있는 전기자동차 충전기가 제공된다. 전기자동차 충전기는, 외부전원에 연결되는 제1커넥터, 전기자동차 배터리에 연결되는 제2커넥터, 상기 외부전원의 크기를 판단하는 전압판단부 및 상기 전압판단부의 판단결과에 따라 릴레이 및 통신부 중 하나의 동작을 제어하는 제어부를 포함한다.
