The present invention relates to a vehicle capable of controlling the deterioration of a battery in the vehicle, and a battery management method thereof. In the vehicle including the battery for supplying electric energy, the method according to the present invention includes the steps of: checking the deterioration degree of the battery; determining whether the deterioration degree of the battery is greater than a reference value; determining the deterioration cause of the battery if the degradation degree of the battery is greater than the reference value; determining whether the deterioration cause of the battery is the driving of the vehicle; and reducing the state of charge (SOC) management width of the battery if the deterioration cause of the battery is charging and discharging due to the driving of the vehicle, checking that the deterioration cause of the battery is the remaining of the vehicle if the deterioration cause of the battery is not the charging and discharging due to the driving of the vehicle and moving the center SOC of the battery. Accordingly, the present invention can minimize the deterioration of the battery.

    차량의 배터리 열화를 제어할 수 있는 차량 및 그의 배터리 운용 방법에 관한 것으로, 전기 에너지를 공급하는 배터리를 포함하는 차량에 있어서, 배터리의 열화 가혹도를 확인하는 단계와, 열화 가혹도가 기준값 이상인지를 판단하는 단계와, 상기 열화 가혹도가 기준값 이상이면, 배터리의 열화 원인을 확인하는 단계와, 배터리의 열화 원인이 차량 주행인지를 판단하는 단계와, 배터리의 열화 원인이 차량 주행에 의한 충방전이면, 배터리의 SOC(State Of Charge) 운용 폭을 축소하고, 배터리의 열화 원인이 차량 주행에 의한 충방전이 아니라면, 배터리의 열화 원인이 차량 방치로 확인하고, 배터리의 중심 SOC를 이동할 수 있다.
