The present invention relates to a method for controlling an engine brake of an automatic transmission vehicle, which can automatically control an engine brake using foot-brake operation to expect an increase in safety and marketability. The method comprises: a first process of detecting operation of the brake when a vehicle speed is higher than a predetermined value while a gear is higher than a predetermined value; a second process of determining a situation as a rapid deceleration situation when brake pressure is higher than a predetermined value; and a third process of setting a low gear to operate the engine brake.

    본 발명은 풋 브레이크 조작으로 자동적으로 엔진 브레이크 제어를 행함으로써 안전성 및 상품성 향상을 기대할 수 있는 자동 변속기 차량의 엔진브레이크 제어방법에 대한 것이다. 본 발명은 기어단이 설정값 이상인 상태에서 차량 속도가 설정값 이상일 경우 브레이크 작동을 검지하는 1과정과 브레이크 압력이 설정치 이상일 경우 급 감속 상황으로 판정하는 2과정과, 엔진브레이크 작동을 위해 목표로 하는 하향 변속단을 설정하는 3과정으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 한다.
