Disclosed are a control device for a vehicle, which can efficiently calculate road surface friction coefficient information in accordance with a road surface, and a control method thereof. The control device for a vehicle in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a detection part which detects driving force information of a vehicle due to engine torque generated in accordance with a road surface, and loss information in accordance with driving of the vehicle; a calculation part which calculates road surface friction coefficient information in accordance with a road surface having correlation among the mass of the vehicle, the acceleration of the vehicle, the acceleration of gravity, a gradient angle, a distance value from a front wheel to the center of gravity, a distance value from a rear wheel to the center of gravity, and a height value from the ground to the center of gravity using correlation between detected driving force information and detected loss information; and a control part which controls the detection part for receiving the driving force information and the loss information, and controls the calculation part for calculating the road surface friction coefficient information.

    차량용 제어 장치 및 그 제어 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 차량용 제어 장치 및 그 제어 방법은 노면에 따라 발생하는 엔진 토크에 의한 차량의 구동력 정보와 차량의 구동에 따른 손실 정보를 감지하는 감지부와; 감지된 구동력 정보와 감지된 손실 정보간의 상관 관계를 이용하여 차량의 질량과, 차량의 가속도와, 중력 가속도와, 구배 각도와, 전륜 휠부터 무게 중심까지의 거리값과, 후륜 휠부터 무게 중심까지의 거리값과, 지면부터 무게 중심까지의 높이값의 상관 관계를 갖는 노면에 따른 노면 마찰 계수 정보를 산출하는 산출부; 및 구동력 정보와 손실 정보를 공급받도록 감지부를 제어하고, 노면 마찰 계수 정보를 산출하도록 산출부를 제어하는 제어부를 포함한다.
