Disclosed are a brake system for a hybrid vehicle and an electric vehicle, and a control method thereof. The brake system for a hybrid vehicle and an electric vehicle according to the present invention comprises: a regenerative brake for performing regenerative breaking via a driving motor providing driving power; an oil hydraulic brake for performing oil hydraulic braking by using the oil pressure; a pair of solenoids in which each solenoid faces each other with having a spring to connect a booster and a brake pedal for performing oil hydraulic braking therebetween; and a control unit for compressing or decompressing a spring by controlling the pair of solenoids based on a result of determining whether or not the regenerative brake is out of order when the speed decreases, thereby controlling an amount of regenerative breaking torque or an amount of oil hydraulic braking torque. That is, by compressing or decompressing a spring by controlling the pair of solenoids based on a result of determining whether or not the regenerative brake is out of order, the present invention can enhance fuel efficiency by maximizing regenerative braking via a regenerative brake if the regenerative brake is not out of order, while the present invention can enhance functional safety by maximizing oil hydraulic braking if the regenerative brake is out of order.

    본 발명은 하이브리드 및 전기 차량의 브레이크 시스템 및 그 제어 방법을 개시한다. 구동동력을 공급하는 구동모터에 의해 회생제동을 수행하는 회생제동장치, 유압을 이용하여 유압제동을 수행하는 유압제동장치, 유압제동을 수행하는 브레이크 페달과 부스터 사이를 연결하는 스프링을 사이에 두고 서로 마주보는 한 쌍의 솔레노이드 및 감속 시 회생제동장치의 고장여부를 판단한 결과에 기초하여 한 쌍의 솔레노이드를 제어하여 스프링을 압축시키거나 또는 팽창시킴으로써, 회생제동 토크량 또는 유압제동 토크량을 제어하는 제어부를 포함한다. 즉, 회생제동장치의 고장여부를 판단한 결과에 기초하여 한 쌍의 솔레노이드를 제어하여 스프링을 압축시키거나 또는 팽창시킴으로써, 회생제동장치가 고장이 아닌 경우에는 회생제동장치에 의한 회생제동을 최대화하여 연비의 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 회생제동장치가 고장인 경우 유압제동을 최대로 증가시켜 기능 안전성(Functional Safety)을 향상시킬 수 있다.
