Provided is a machine room-less elevator refurbishing method by which many equipment can be utilized and a traction machine can be installed which has mounting and appearance dimensions different from pre-refurbishing dimensions. In the machine room-less elevator refurbishing method, a balance weight return sheave (15) is removed from an upper supporting body (13), and then a new traction machine (21) having a driving sheave (23) is installed in the upper supporting body. In addition, a new elevator compartment suspending sheave device (31) having first and second elevator compartment suspending sheaves (33a, 33b) is mounted on an elevator compartment (1). When the elevator compartment (1) is seen from above, the first and second elevator compartment suspending sheaves (33a, 33b) of the new elevator compartment suspending sheave device (31) are arranged on a straight line inclined with respect to a straight line connecting first and second elevator compartment guide rails (8a, 8b) to each other.

    [과제] 많은 기기(機器)를 유용(流用)하면서, 장착 치수 및 외형 치수가 개수전과는 다른 권상기를 설치할 수 있는 기계실이 없는 엘리베이터의 개수 방법을 얻는다. [해결 수단] 기계실이 없는 엘리베이터의 개수 방법에서는, 상부 지지체(13)로부터 균형추 리턴 쉬브(15)를 떼어낸 후, 구동 쉬브(23)를 가지는 새로운 권상기(21)를 상부 지지체에 설치한다. 또, 제1 및 제2 엘리베이터 칸 서스펜딩 쉬브(33a, 33b)를 가지는 새로운 엘리베이터 칸 서스펜딩 쉬브 장치(31)를 엘리베이터 칸(1)에 장착한다. 새로운 엘리베이터 칸 서스펜딩 쉬브 장치(31)의 제1 및 제2 엘리베이터 칸 서스펜딩 쉬브(33a, 33b)는, 엘리베이터 칸(1)을 바로 위로부터 보았을 때에, 제1 및 제2 엘리베이터 칸 가이드 레일(8a, 8b) 사이를 잇는 직선에 대해서 경사지는 직선상에 배치된다.
