The present invention relates to a smart navigation system for a wheelchair. The smart navigation system for a wheelchair comprises: a GPS receiver receiving GPS location information; a navigation terminal mounted on a wheelchair by including a display unit; and a system controller included in the wheelchair to be integrated or to additionally be installed with the navigation terminal, providing location information or route information which a user requests, for a user by communicating with a server when the system controller is able to receive the GPS location information, wherein the system controller includes a control unit providing the location information or the route information which the user requests for the user by communicating with a peripheral device capable of communication when the GPS information cannot be received. According to the present invention, the smart navigation system for a wheelchair applies the latest geographic information by connecting to the server in real time in a place wherein a location-based service can be used. The smart navigation system for a wheelchair can also apply the latest geographic information by communicating with the peripheral device capable of communication in a place wherein the location-based service is difficult to be used; thereby the smart navigation system for the wheelchair improving convenience for a wheelchair user.

    본 발명은 휠체어용 스마트 내비게이션 시스템에 관한 것으로, GPS 위치 정보를 수신하는 GPS 수신기와, 디스플레이부가 구비되어 휠체어에 장착되는 내비게이션 단말기와, 상기 내비게이션 단말기와 일체 또는 별도로 상기 휠체어에 구비되며, GPS 위치 정보를 수신할 수 있을 때에는 서버와 통신하여 사용자가 요청한 위치 정보 또는 경로 정보를 사용자에게 제공하고, GPS 정보를 수신할 수 없을 때에는 통신 가능한 주변 장치와 통신하여 상기 사용자가 요청한 위치 정보 또는 경로 정보를 사용자에게 제공하는 제어부가 구비된 시스템 제어기를 포함한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 위치 기반 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 장소에서는 서버에 실시간으로 접속해 최신 지리 정보를 반영하고, 위치 기반 서비스를 이용하기 어려운 장소에서는 통신 가능한 주변 장치와 통신하여 최신 지리 정보를 반영할 수 있어 휠체어 사용자의 편의성이 향상되는 효과가 있다.
