The present invention relates to a braking system for an electric vehicle, provided to exclude a brake pad and brake an electric vehicle without damage to the brake system. To this end, the braking system for an electric vehicle comprises: an oil pumping unit which is connected to one end of a rotation shaft of a rotation unit, whose the other end is fixated to a wheel, and is arranged to be installed in a supporting unit with an outlet and an inlet to pump oil filled by rotation of the rotation shaft; an oil circulation pipe whose one end is connected to an outlet side of the foil pumping unit, and whose the other end is connected to the inlet, and which is provided to circulate oil by operation of the oil pumping unit; and a braking member which is installed on the oil circulation pipe, and provided to brake the rotation shaft as the operation of the oil pumping unit is controlled due to opening and closing of the oil circulation pipe by the control of a driver.
