The present invention relates to a lens optical system of a puddle lamp for an automobile with an improved chromatic aberration by properly designing the focal distance and shape of a lens and the axial distance between lens surfaces to minimize the chromatic aberration of a puddle lens, and a puddle lamp for an automobile including the same. The lens optical system of a puddle lamp for an automobile consists of two pieces of lenses discharging a beam entering from a light source and sequentially arranged along an optical axis from an object side, and comprises a first lens of a meniscus shape having a concave surface toward the light source and a second lens of a meniscus shape having a concave surface toward the light source. The first lens and the second lens satisfy the following condition 1.0 ≤ f1/f2 ≤ 1.2, where f1 represents the focal distance of the first lens and f2 represents the focal distance of the second lens.
