The present invention is to provide a drone for performing a mission and a mission-based multi drone formation control method capable of configuring an optimal drone formation according to a mission to be performed and controlling it in real time when the mission needs to be performed using multiple drones. According to the present invention, the drone for performing a mission comprises: a communication unit which performs communication connection with a drone network between a backbone network and multiple drones; a force calculation unit for calculating a first force for maintaining the network, a second force for the spread of the drones, a third force for performing the mission of the drone, and a fourth force according to the state of the drone; and a flight control unit for controlling movement in the direction of the resultant force of the first force, the second force, the third force, and the fourth force.
