The present invention relates to a method for removing purge residual gas for improving fuel efficiency by optimizing engine operation for consuming purge residual gas. According to the present invention, provided is a method for removing purge residual gas remaining on an intake path of a hybrid vehicle, which comprises: a residual gas determination step of determining the residual level of the purge residual gas remaining on the intake path after the boil-off gas purge control; and a residual gas removal step of removing purge residual gas by selecting an engine clutch combined charge control mode for charging a battery while running an engine in parallel mode and an engine idle charge control mode for charging the battery while driving the engine in idle mode, according to the residual level.
