The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling brightness of smart glass and a method thereof, wherein the apparatus comprises: an illumination intensity detection unit detecting illumination intensity of the inside and the outside of a vehicle; a sight line detection unit detecting a sight line of a driver; smart glass displaying head up display (HUD) information; and a control unit controlling display brightness of the smart glass by corresponding to the illumination intensity of the inside and the outside of the vehicle corresponding to the sight line of the driver.

    본 발명은 스마트글라스의 밝기 제어 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 차량 내부의 조도 및 외부의 조도를 검출하는 조도 검출부, 운전자의 시선을 검출하는 시선 검출부, HUD(Head Up Display) 정보를 표시하는 스마트글라스, 및 상기 운전자의 시선에 대응하는 차량의 내부 또는 외부 조도에 대응하여 상기 스마트글라스의 디스플레이 밝기를 조정하는 제어부를 포함한다.
