The present invention relates to a pinion shaft for a steering system, having a pinion applied to a rack pinion type-steering apparatus for a vehicle, and more specifically, to a pinion shaft for a steering apparatus and a method for manufacturing a pinion shaft through forging and rolling to have a shaft member, which is divided from one side of a pinion member and has a serration formed on a rear end thereof to be connected to a steering shaft on the side of a steering wheel, and form a hollow part inside, thereby saving costs for raw materials, reducing weight, improving productivity, and maximizing durability of a pinion. That is, according to the present invention, the pinion shaft, which has the shaft member formed on one side of the pinion member and the serration formed on the rear end thereof to be connected to the side of the steering wheel, has a structure divided into the pinion member and the shaft member, and has the hollow part formed inside the shaft member, wherein the pinion member formed through rolling and forging and the shaft member formed through forging are integrally assembled.
본 발명은 랙 피니언 타입의 자동차 조향장치에 적용되는 피니언이 형성된 조향장치용 피니언축에 관한 것으로서, 피니언부재의 일측으로 핸들 쪽의 조향축과 연결되도록 후단에 세레이션을 형성한 축부재를 분할하고 내부에 중공부이 형성되도록 단조 및 전조에 의해 피니언축을 제조토록 함으로 해서 피니언축의 원자재비용 절감, 중량감소, 생산성 향상 및 피니언의 내구성도 극대화 시킬 수 있도록 하는 조향장치용 피니언축 및 피니언축 제조방법을 제공한 것이다. 즉, 본 발명에서는 피니언부재의 일측으로 핸들 쪽과 연결되도록 후단에 세레이션을 형성한 축부재를 형성한 피니언축에 있어서; 상기 피니언부재와 축부재를 분할 구성하되; 상기 피니언부재는 전조 및 단조에 의해 구성하고, 축부재는 단조에 의해 구성하여 상호 일체로 조립하며; 상기 축부재 내측으로는 중공부를 형성한 것이다.
