To provide a forklift capable of determining whether a signal line connected to a range sensor is disconnected even when the range sensor is not equipped with a disconnection detection function.SOLUTION: A range sensor 5 that detects objects existing in a detection area sets a first area set so that a part of a forklift F is not present, as the detection area when it receives a signal from a control unit 6 via only one signal line 7 out of plural ones, and sets a second area set so that the part of the forklift F is present as the detection area when no signal is input from the control unit 6 via any of the signal lines 7. When the control unit 6 equipped in the forklift F outputs a signal on only one signal line 7, if the range sensor 5 does not detect the part of the forklift F, it determines that the signal line 7 is not disconnected, and determines that the signal line 7 is disconnected if the range sensor 5 detects the part of the forklift F.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
