To identify an artificial object among space objects flying in or near a geosynchronous orbit.SOLUTION: An artificial object identification device 123 receives imaging data at each time point from an observation satellite 200 which performs forward-looking imaging while relatively moving eastward with respect to a space object on a geosynchronous orbit by flying at an altitude lower than the altitude of the geosynchronous orbit, specifies the space object that was not imaged before 12 o'clock but was imaged after 12 o'clock on the basis of the imaging data at each time point, and identifies the specified space object as an artificial object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 39
