To improve maximum braking force which can be achieved by an own vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle braking method includes: setting required braking force required for an own vehicle (S1): detecting a coefficient of friction of a road surface (S2); calculating a first distribution ratio which is a braking force distribution ratio between front wheels and rear wheels, according to a wheel load ratio which is a ratio of a wheel load ratio applied to the front wheels and the rear wheels when the own vehicle is decelerated at maximum deceleration possible to be generated (S3); and generating braking force obtained by distributing the required braking force in the front wheels and the rear wheels, at a braking force distribution ratio based on the first distribution ratio (S4, S5).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
