To upgrade the precision in designating the position of each unit area in a layout where unit areas are aligned in a first direction and second direction.SOLUTION: A position information designation method includes a step of disposing a reference object, which is used to designate position information, in at least one unit area within a disposition region where unit areas in which an object may possibly be disposed are aligned in a first direction and second direction, a step of designating a detection route of a moving body which passes through a predetermined distance range from a unit area in which the reference object is disposed, a step of moving a moving body, in which a sensor capable of detecting the reference object is incorporated, along the detection route, and causing the sensor to detect the position and posture of the reference object, and a step of calculating position information on each of the unit areas within the disposition region on the basis of the position and posture of the reference object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
