To prevent situations of falling into supply power shortage and vehicle power shortage in a prohibited area where utilization of an engine is prohibited.SOLUTION: A control unit of an electric vehicle comprises: a map information acquisition section for acquiring map information including information of prohibited areas that prohibit discharge of exhaust gas; a route specification section for specifying a planned travel route in the map information; a network interface for connecting to a communication network to obtain information; and a power demand acquisition section for acquiring power demand information that is a difference between power demand and power supply in a prohibited area existing on the planned travel route, via the network interface. The control unit executes charging amount management control for restricting or increasing a decrease in a charge amount of a secondary battery before intruding into a prohibited area, if a difference between power demand and power supply in the prohibited area is a predetermined difference or less before intruding into the prohibited area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
