The invention relates to a power shortage prevention system for an electric vehicle accumulator jar. The system comprises the accumulator jar, a power battery, a vehicle control unit, a battery management system, an accumulator jar energy management controller, a current sensor and a DC-to-DC power supply exchanger, wherein the DC-to-DC power supply exchanger is respectively connected with the power battery and the accumulator jar; the converter is used for converting the voltage output by the power battery into the voltage required by the accumulator jar; the current sensor is arranged on a loop of the accumulator jar and the DC-to-DC power supply exchanger; the accumulator jar energy management controller is respectively connected with the current sensor and the vehicle control unit andreceives the current detected by the current sensor in real time so as to judge the residual electric quantity of the accumulator jar, and when the residual electric quantity is lower than a set safety threshold value, the accumulator jar energy management controller outputs a high-level signal to wake up the vehicle control unit; and the vehicle control unit sends a charging starting instructionto the DC-to-DC power supply exchanger, and charging is stopped when the residual electric quantity of the storage battery reaches a rated value.
