The peripheral vehicle information includes a detection result, by a lateral sensor equipped in the own vehicle, of an adjacent vehicle traveling in a lane adjacent to another lane in which the own vehicle is traveling; and the control unit 232 has at least one of a function for determining whether or not the own vehicle is overtaking the adjacent vehicle based on detection results of the adjacent vehicle by the lateral sensor at a current time and before the current time, and for suppressing the dead angle avoiding control when the own vehicle is overtaking the adjacent vehicle; and a function for determining whether or not the adjacent vehicle is overtaking the own vehicle based on detection results of the adjacent vehicle by the lateral sensor at the current time and before the current time, and for suppressing the dead angle avoiding control when the adjacent vehicle is overtaking the own vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
