To suppress an increase in friction and enhance support rigidity in an axial direction of a shaft.SOLUTION: A torque sensor includes: a stator 44 fixed to an output shaft 82b; a housing 20 in which the output shaft 82b and the stator 44 are disposed; and a bearing 60 by which the output shaft 82b is rotatably supported with respect to the housing 20. The bearing 60 includes: an outer race 61 fixed to the housing 20; an inner race 62 fixed to the output shaft 82b; and a plurality of rolling elements 63 disposed between the outer race 61 and the inner race 62. The housing 20 and the output shaft 82b apply an axial preload to the outer race 61 and the inner race 62 in a state where the outer race 61 is fixed to the housing 20 and the inner race 62 is fixed to the output shaft 82b. A radial preload is applied from either one of the housing 20 and the output shaft 82b to at least one bearing 60, and thus a residual gap between the outer race 61 or the inner race 62 and the rolling element 63 is 0 or less in a state where the bearing 60 is not fixed to the other of the housing and the output shaft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
