To suppress the number of cables connected to a rail to acquire information on breakage detection.SOLUTION: A rail breakage detection device 10 includes a short-circuit unit 12 for short-circuiting between a pair of rails 70 and 72, four cables 20 each having one end connected to each of four voltage measurement points 16A to 16D that are set on both sides in a rail extending direction where the short-circuit unit 12 is sandwiched by the pair of rails 70 and 72, a measurement unit 30 to which each of the other ends of the four cables 20 is connected to measure a potential of the four voltage measurement points 16A to 16D, and a determination unit 50 for determining the presence/absence of the breakage of the pair of rails 70 and 72 based on the measurement result of the measurement unit 30 and identifying an area where the breakage of the pair of rails 70 and 72 occurs from four areas at which the four voltage measurement points 16A to 16D are set.     【課題】破断検知の情報取得のためにレールに接続するケーブルの本数を抑制する。【解決手段】レール破断検知装置10は、一対のレール70、72間を短絡する短絡部12と、一対のレール70、72で短絡部12を挟むレール延在方向の両側に設定された4箇所の電圧測定点16A~16Dに対して、各々の一端が接続される4本のケーブル20と、4本のケーブル20の他端が接続され、4箇所の電圧測定点16A~16Dの電位を測定する測定部30と、測定部30の測定結果に基づいて、一対のレール70、72の破断の有無を判定し、更にレール70、72の破断が発生したエリアを、4箇所の電圧測定点16A~16Dが設定された4つのエリアの中から特定する判定部50とを含む。これにより、レール70、72の破断を検知しながらも、ケーブル20の本数を抑制することができる。【選択図】図2
