To provide a cell balancing method and a system therefor with which, regarding cells of a plurality of lithium-ion batteries constituting a battery pack mounted to an electric vehicle, it is possible to reliably suppress the progress of degradation, for each cell.SOLUTION: The method comprises: a predictive stop time setting step in which a stop time from when an electric vehicle is stopped to the next time it starts is predicted; a capacity retention rate calculation estimation step in which the capacity retention rate of each cell of a lithium-ion battery at the next start time following the passage of the predicted predictive stop time is estimated; an SOC adjustment value setting step in which, when the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the estimated capacity retention rate is greater than or equal to a prescribed value, an SOC adjustment value for reducing the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the capacity retention rate to within the prescribed value is set; and an SOC adjustment step in which, while the electric vehicle is stopped, the SOC of one or both of the maximum and minimum values is adjusted to the SOC adjustment value having been set in the SOC adjustment value setting step, by an SOC adjustment device that is capable of incrementing or decrementing the SOC of cells for adjustment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A

    【課題】電気自動車に搭載される電池パックを構成する複数のリチウムイオン電池のセルについて、各セル毎に的確に劣化の促進を抑制することのできるセルバランシング方法及びそのシステムを提供する。【解決手段】方法は、電気自動車が停車してから次の始動時までの停車時間を予測する予測停車時間設定工程と、予測された予測停車時間の経過後である次の始動時におけるリチウムイオン電池の各セルの容量維持率を推定する容量維持率算出推定工程と、推定された容量維持率の最大値と最小値の差が所定値以上となる場合に、容量維持率の最大値と最小値の差を所定値以内とするためのSOC調整値を設定するSOC調整値設定工程と、電気自動車が停車中に、セルのSOCを増減調整可能なSOC調整装置により最大値及び最小値の何れか一方又は双方のSOCを、SOC調整値設定工程で設定されたSOC調整値に調整するSOC調整工程と、を有する。【選択図】図2A
