The present invention provides a cell balancing method and a system thereof, which can accurately suppress the aggravation of deterioration for each cell of a plurality of lithium ion batteries constituting a battery pack mounted in an electric vehicle. A cell balancing method for adjusting the SOC of a cell of a lithium ion battery comprising a plurality of cells mounted on an electric vehicle as a power source of the electric vehicle includes a predicted parking time setting step, a capacity retention rate calculation and estimation step, an SOC adjustment value setting step, and an SOC adjustment step.
