To provide a wireless road-side machine, a traffic communication system, and a traffic communication method that can properly detect antenna abnormality even when the wireless road-side machine has only one antenna.SOLUTION: A wireless road-side machine in one embodiment of the present invention is a wireless road-side machine 100 that performs road-vehicle communication with a vehicle 200 via an antenna 110. The wireless road-side machine 100 includes a radio reception unit 120 that receives a radio signal transmitted from the vehicle 200. The wireless road-side machine 100 includes a message processing unit 130 that obtains location information of the vehicle 200 from the radio signals. The wireless road-side machine 100 includes an RSSI estimation unit 140 that calculates a distance between the wireless road-side machine 100 and the vehicle 200 based on the location information, and estimates a first RSSI of the radio signal based on the distance. The wireless road-side machine 100 includes an RSSI operation unit 150 that measures a second RSSI of the radio signal. The road-side machine 100 includes an abnormality detecting unit 160 that detects an abnormality in the antenna 110 based on the first RSSI and the second RSSI.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
