To provide a vehicle operation system for allowing a vehicle to selectively travel on an optimum lane among a plurality of lanes concerning an automatic driving.SOLUTION: A vehicle operation system 1000 comprises a vehicle controller 100 and a vehicle control apparatus 500. The vehicle controller 100 includes: a vehicle sensing information acquisition section 102 for acquiring vehicle sensing information to be detected by a plurality of sensors 12 and 13 installed in a vehicle 1; and a controlled variable setting section 104 for setting controlled variable related to traveling along a travel recommended lane based on travel recommended lane information. The vehicle control apparatus 500 includes: a travel information database 520 for storing at least map data of a road on which a plurality of vehicles 1 travels and the vehicle sensing information; and a travel recommended lane determination section 530 for determining the travel recommended lane for each of the vehicles 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
