To provide a charge/discharge device capable of making appropriate a setting value prior to charge/discharge start, a charge/discharge control method and a computer program.SOLUTION: A charge/discharge device is connected with a storage battery provided in a vehicle, and controls charge/discharge between the storage battery and a power source or a load. The charge/discharge device comprises: a communication section which performs communication connection with an on-vehicle control device which controls charge/discharge in the storage battery inside the vehicle; and a control section which transmits and receives data from the communication section based on a predetermined sequence between the charge/discharge device and the on-vehicle control device. After the communication connection is established by the communication section, the control section transmits to the on-vehicle control device data including a preset current value which can be input or output. Information including a current upper limit value of discharge or charge transmitted from the on-vehicle control device in accordance with the current value is received by the communication section, it is determined whether or not the current value is matched with the received current upper limit value and in a case where it is determined that the current value is not matched, the current value is reset based on the current upper limit value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
